Toehold®

In the glittering heart of Las Vegas, among the neon lights and endless entertainment, there exists a small but fiercely passionate company: Toehold USA. Founded by AG Gregoroff, Toehold had an audacious goal: to create the strongest, most luxurious, high-quality flip flops in the world. While the rest of the industry churned out cheap, disposable footwear, Toehold aimed for excellence, no matter the cost.

AG believed that there was a market for people who appreciated the artistry and durability of well-made products. Toehold flip flops are handcrafted from the finest materials: American-made vegetable tanned full grain cow hide, ethically sourced exotic leathers, and sustainably harvested rubber. Each pair is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, made by skilled artisans in their Las Vegas workshop.

However, the journey was far from easy. As global markets continued to push those inexpensive, mass-produced flip flops, Toehold struggled to compete. Their production costs were high, and convincing customers to invest in high-end, American made flip flops was a daunting task. They faced ridicule and skepticism from many who couldn’t understand why anyone would pay such a premium for a simple pair of flip flops.

Their persistence began to pay off. Word began to spread about the unparalleled comfort and longevity of Toehold flip flops. Hardworking Americans, celebrities, and athletes began to take notice. Soon, Toehold flip flops became a symbol of status and sustainability. Customers who had once doubted this concept now praised the investment, experiencing firsthand the difference in quality.

As the years go by, Toehold continues to grew, but they never compromise on their values. They produce their flip flops with the same attention to detail and commitment to excellence. In a world obsessed with cheap and fast, Toehold proves that there is always a place for timeless luxury and integrity.

AG’s dream has become a reality. Toehold flip flops are not just the most exclusive, and durable on the planet—they are the best. And in the city of Las Vegas, amidst the glitz and glamour, Toehold shines as a beacon of uncompromising quality.

Our Story

In 2010, when AG Gregoroff was hiking in his hometown of San Diego, the thong on one of his flip-flops tore. Still far from camp, he was forced to lace paracord through the top, weaving it between his toes, but the rough material left his toes cut up and bloody. An idea was sparked, and he started to look for an indestructible pair of flip-flops to wear hiking, Hunting, to the beach, and off the Jiu-Jitsu mats.

A military contractor at the time, AG left for Japan shortly thereafter. Once there, he visited some of the leather crafters of the Okinawa jungle, where he had heard tales of their legendary craftsmanship. He visited the bamboo hut of a master artisan that specialized in leather footwear. AG brought him some of his designs, and together they created a pair of ultra-durable flip-flops.

Years of trial and error passed, and AG was able to duplicate, then surpass, the quality of that first pair of flip-flops created so many years earlier in the jungle.

AG's intention was to never make flip-flops for anybody else. However, it was impossible to ignore the constant requests for custom pairs from his Jiu-Jitsu teammates. Thus, he was forced to quit his job to create the Toehold brand. AG and his team have since perfected their process, and have been producing custom, high-end flip-flops for customers all over the world ever since.

Today, Toehold® is owned and operated by AG Gregoroff, Dan Hart, and Andy Stumpf. Under their leadership, Toehold® manufactures flip-flops that are hand-crafted with ethically sourced leathers, unparalled in uniqueness and durability. Their promise is to incorporate the highest quality materials into truly dope products that will last for years to come.
